Hello All,
MASS has been advised from Ottobock that their Kimba Spring Paediatric Stroller has had an incident overseas where cracking has occured on the the dampening valve of the spring mounted seat. The failure of the dampening valve resulted in the seat 'over tilting'.
As a result, Ottobock are implimenting an additional component - a 'Tilt Limiter'. This device will ensure that any failure of the dampening valve will limit the tilting range of the seat. The component will be available in June, and will be replaced free of charge.
Ottobock have advised most strollers will be fitted with this component within the next 2mths. TGA are aware of (Recall number 2007-0351) and have approved the Corrective Action, and the continued use of the product in the interim.
I have diagrams of the new component and how it is mounted, but I havn't figured out how to upload documents on the forum yet! If anybody would like the schematic of the new mechanism feel free to email me.
