Clinical Management of Lower Limb Problems: A Biomechanical Approach
Description: Biomechanics of the lower limb will include a systematic approach to the management of the foot/ankle complex, knee and hip to incorporate anatomy, normal biomechanics, pathologies and methods of assessment for short and long term cases. Areas for each of the levels - degenerative, inflammatory, neurological, vascular and trauma situautions and the different approaches for paediatric and adult situations presented. The biomechanics of normal gait, orthoses, patient/device interface and foot orthotics.

Clinical Management of Upper Limb Amputees
Description: The course is structures to meet the requirements of the A.F.R.M. The topics covered will include basic biomechanics of trans-radial and trans-humeral prostheses (below and above elbow prosthese), prosthetic components, harnessing, prescription check-out, training and management of brachial plexus lesions. There is also a large practical component , allowing opportunity to liaise with the prosthetist as part of the management team.

Clinical Mangement of amputees

Description: Dr Andrew Nunn, Rehabilitation Specialist, will presented case studies. The Symposium on Wheelchair Safety and Standards Monitoring
Description: The Assistive Technology industry in Australia has been developing a range of products for domestic and international use over many years. Australia has also adopted a range of national standards (often drawn from ISO standards) to set benchmarks for rehabilitation and assistive technology manufacture. To date most of these standards are implemented through a “type testing” arrangement that is voluntary. Some funding schemes have chosen to make compliance with relevant Australian Standards mandatory for inclusion on their list of approved products.
