| 1. Functional Requirements - the component must perform the function that is claimed. 2. Structural Standards - compliance to structural standards where they exist. For lower limb prosthetics this is ISO 10328 and ISO/DIS 15032. Proof of compliance to standards is required. 3. Dimensional Requirements - includes compliance with existing components, techniques and serviceability i.e. it must be easily used and serviced. 4. Supply The component is from a reliable supplier with acceptable backup and delivery capabilities. 5. Durability This is a continuous assessment. The product may be removed from subsequent TechGUIDE's if found not to be durable or dangerous in regular use.
The component also needs to needs to be weighed and measured by REHABTech. |
The major reasons a component is not included are:-
a) It has never been submitted for to REHABTech. b) It has failed in one or more of the five baseline categories.Although there are charges associated with listing components for the TechGUIDE these in no way of give priority to components for inclusion. These costs are to help provide the printed version free of charge to specific facilities and organisations. (These groups are in consultation with the relevant suppliers. All other users must pay for the printed versions)
